Anglian Learning
Anglian Learning is a successful multi-academy trust in East Anglia. Their academies consist of 11 primary, 7 secondary schools and 2 sixth forms, each retaining their unique identity and ethos. They value a culture of supportive, respectful relationships where their people are empowered to embrace new ideas and think creatively.
The services we successfully provided to them under our Procurement Partnership were:
1 - Procurement training
When the Procurement Act went live, Anglian Learning wanted to grips with the new rules ASAP.
After many hours of internal research and reading, they reached out to RIVA for a concise, to the point training session to unravel ‘what’s new’ and ‘next steps’ in clear, simple, actionable terms for their trust.
Our consultants are expert in the Act and designed a 90 minute training session, focussing on the pertinent changes and areas of focus specific to them.
The outcome:
The trust came away from our session not only with a clearer understanding of the Act, but a confidence in which actions they should take to remain compliant and an energised feeling as to the opportunities it brings to them as a forward thinking trust!
2 - Grounds maintenance tender
Together with RIVA, the trust identified an opportunity to consolidate it’s numerous grounds maintenance contracts held across it’s individual schools into one, better value trust wide contract. The importance of this service was understood as the schools’ grounds form part of the ‘impression’ of the schools and are integral to the student experience.
RIVA worked with the trust to unravel the existing contracts and the bespoke needs of each individual school. This was worked into the broader specification and the strategy and objectives were clearly set.
The outcome:
The trust was able to secure a great value grounds maintenance contract as a result of our bespoke tender management project. They enjoy cost savings, streamlined management, transparent efficient reporting on the contract and a true best value position.
3 - Catering contract extension during growth
Anglian Learning is a growing Trust. When they were onboarding 6 new schools, they contacted RIVA for support in novating them into the wider trust catering contract as we know their trust, their strategy, ethos and objectives and could make this a truly bespoke project.
Each of the schools new to the trust were of course unique – with bespoke requirements. The trust were very keen that not only was this level of detail captured but that the schools have a ‘say’ in terms of their new service landscape.
The trust’s incumbent catering provider was given the opportunity to visit the new schools and get to know them, using this coupled with the detailed proposal pack RIVA prepared for them to put forward some innovative, fit for purpose ideas for the new schools. This meant the project was not contained to simply including the new schools into the existing contract – rather it was an opportunity for review and improvement, too.
